Place Calculation Points & Remove Unwanted Points

AGi32 provides a number of ways to place calculation points and the method used is often dependent on the type of project being considered. In this case we are going to use the simplest form of creating points, a rectangular grid.

• From the Calculations Toolkit, select the 2-Point Grid command.
• The default Point Spacing of 10’ x 10’ is fine. (Dialog shown below)
• Note the default is Horizontal Meter and Grid, this is what we want.
• Note the default grid elevation is Z=0 (at grade), perfect.
• We will leave the defaults as is, click OK to exit the dialog.
• Click Point 1, then Point 2, as shown below. You may need to Pan and Zoom using the mouse wheel.

Next, we will remove the unwanted calculation points that are beneath the building.

• In the Calculations Toolkit, select the Remove Points command, Within Entities, Single option.
• Select an edge of the building shape, then confirm the selection and remove the points with a right mouse click.
